The meaning of “Arogyavardhan” is betterment of health. This is the flagship program of Seva Arogya Foundation. The program includes surveys, health check-up camps focusing on specific areas such as anemia, eye check-up, bone density testing, and so on. It also includes running low cost clinics for regular counseling on health issues. Through the identification of the problem and counseling, follow on treatment is identified. The goal is also to train local volunteers who can perform basic physiotherapy and exercises prescribed by the physician. The main focus group of this program is on women, the elderly and children.

In the program we appoint a local lady in every Vasti who works for two hours every day. A structure of a Chief Program Manager and Vasti co-ordinator who look after 2-3 Vastis, has been established. The system of training these volunteers, monthly meetings, report preparation, future planning for running the dispensaries has been established. These volunteers carry out the tasks of house visits, collecting health related information, taking the people with ailments to the dispensary and their follow-up. Following activities are carried out - Treatment of common ailments, referring serious patients to hospitals, eye check-ups and sale of spectacles, getting the cataract operations done at subsidised rates or free through hospitals, treating anaemia after hemogram testing, counselling on eating habits and use of iron utensils, guidance and preventive measures for Corona pandemic.

The patient check-up is done at a meagre charge of Rs.30/-. The treatment is given free of cost in case the patient can't afford these fees also. Until now 40,000 house visits have been conducted. 17 Subsidised dispensaries have been established. Two out of these are purely ayurvedic dispensaries. The records of the essential points are maintained and are analysed. Wherever required the follow-up treatment is provided. In the weekly meetings, the required improvements are discussed regularly.

Divad Gaon Dispensary – This is a small village 50km from Pune having a population of around 2000. In this village we are running a weekly dispensary which is aided by a CSR initiative from Z S company. We have special check camps and counselling programs here. Diabetic check camp is conducted. It was observed that quite a few villagers were suffering from diabetes. A H1Bc test which is quite costly, was conducted for the identified villagers. The report of this exercise is given below. Treatment will be provided as per the results of these tests. The villagers and the Z S Company are very satisfied with the medical support provided at such a remote village.
